I know absolutely nothing about my birth except where and when I was born. I know I was adopted roughly one week after my birth.
If you have any further advise for me regarding a search I would be most greatful. I have been through your web site and really do not know where to begin. I have filled out the form with all the details possible. What do I do now???
I am currently living in Singapore so a search for my parents can only be done through correspondence on the web or by email.
Please advise me where to go from here
My advice to you is to send all your details to the Department of Social Welfare in Bulawayo, and request that they institute a search for you. Tell them you need your file and all your details. You are legally entitled to the information and you need to remember this at all times because the people that work in the Department are basically too lazy to look up any files and would rather fob you off with excuses.
I suggest you contact the International Red Cross in Singapore and tell them what you want, and ask them to act as go-between for you.
Finally, I strongly recommend you sit down with your parents and explain to them that you would really like to know about your origins. Reassure them that it does not change how you feel about them, and that you love them dearly etc etc. Show them my site and those other sites on the Links page. They may then understand how important it is for adopted children to find their roots.
Can I ask if you read the following pages?

They will help you in your search.
