The Catholic Women's League of Adoptions
http://www.adoptions.org.za/
Don't be concerned if you are not Catholic - this organisation is for everyone, and it was through them that I had the idea of starting this site.
They offer a range of services to adoptees, birthmothers, and adoptive parents.

Here are some international links to help you on your quest. You may find interesting clues here.

Newsgroups are a wonderful source of information but be warned: submitting an entry to one of them is an open invitation to what seems like every spammer in the world. Be prepared for a mailbox full of junkmail (spam). Another word of caution: it is not a good idea to give your personal details (e-mail or home address or phone numbers) to anyone in a chat room. There's some nasty types out there, who prey on the emotionally vulnerable. Rather contact the Chatroom or Forum moderator and ask them to forward details.

Adoption.com
http://www.adoption.com
This is an excellent site, but those of you with older browsers or slow PCs may find you are unable to access it. It is graphic- and Java-intensive. But well worth the detour.

Adoptionsearch

A searchable database which may turn up some unexpected results! Give it a try. Bear in mind, though, it will probably bring you back to our own database as well.

HomeDirectoryNetwork.com
http://www.hom edirectorynetwork.com/Family_Adoption_Search_and_Reunion.html Loads of links to other adoption search sites. Also has some good forums for those of you who may wish to chat to others in similar situations.

Cyndi's List - Adoption
http://www.cyndislist.com/adoption.htm
An outstanding site with a phenomenal number of links. You can spend hours here.

International Red Cross Tracing Office Addresses
http://www.icrc.org/eng/tracing_offices_ns
The IRC requires that anyone using their tracing facilities applies to the Centre closest to where they currenly live.
This site lists all the Tracing Offices worldwide - and some surprising ones there are too!

If anyone knows of any good links which they feel may be useful to other questors, please e-mail them to us.
