I was prepared for my birthmother to not want any contact, but I never thought that she would not be willing to give me my medical and ethnic history. She never married or had any other children, so who is she hiding me from?
| I have met 2 of her aunts and a cousin who are very wonderful people. They were very surprised that she had a child. They don't remember her EVER dating anyone. They are sad that they missed out on 35 years with me and very much want to make up for the lost time. |
I went to them not looking for a "family" or any kind of relationship. I just wanted to get medical info before it was to late and they weren't around anymore. Some people think I was wrong to go to them, but it has turned out to be the best thing I could have done. They are great!!! I even took my children to meet them last month.
