Don't Give up Your Baby

Submitted by Anon, South Africa

All those years ago when I gave up my precious baby boy, (although I feel bullied into giving him up) I was at the time, convinced it was the right thing to have done.

As a 18 year old I did what girls that age should have been doing, going out jolling and thoroughly enjoying life to the fullest. Years later my husband and I would chat about the adoption thing and I always said if I ever had a daughter and she got herself into that situation I would advise her to give the baby up as well. My husband was horrified!!. Anyway now I have gone through all the meetings etc. NEVER NEVER in a million years would I allow my daughter to do any such thing. I can't believe how affected the adopted child has been, and only now am I starting to really get a grip of how deeply it affected me at all. So as much as I had the wonderful teenage years loosing a child is the worst thing.

Basically I just wanted to tell people out there no matter what the struggle may be dont let that baby go. The love of a Bparent is far more important, obviously there are circumstances where a girl really doesn't care and is a druggie etc then adoption would be the answer.

-To my lovely son, I only pray for his forgiveness every day - To his brothers and sister I deprived them of a lot of years together and so much to have been shared. I only pray for many years ahead of us together in love and family unity.
